Prof. Dr. Christine Wiezorek

Christine Wiezorek is a Professor of Educational Research specializing in the pedagogy of adolescence at Justus Liebig University Giessen and Principal Investigator in the MeDiMi project “Human Rights as Reference Point of Professional Ethics for Social-Educational Practice in Migration Societies”. Prior to that, she worked at the Universities of Jena and Halle. She obtained her PhD (2003) and her habilitation (2012) from the University of Jena (venia legendi: Educational Research). She has been a board member of the German Educational Research Association (GERA) since 2018. Christine Wiezorek is interested in socialization processes as well as the educational conditions of growing up in migration societies. Her work focuses on youth biography research and transition rituals in adolescence, family images, attitudes of professional educators, and questions of cooperation between youth welfare and schools.
